Dreams Do Come True

   I had dreamt of being a doctor since childhood. I knew I had to study hard and stay at the top to get there. My family and I lived in New Orleans until I was 10 years old at which time we moved to Amite. My parents, Marie and John Smith still reside at that residence down Country Club Rd. They had that property since before I was born and we use to come up about every weekend growing up and stayed in the small barn and rode horses. 

When we moved to Amite permanently, I commuted to school in Covington. I graduated from St. Scholastica Academy in 1991 as Salutatorian and went on to college in Tennessee at Vanderbilt University where I received a 4 yr Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology. 

After college, I married Waylon Givens whom I have been happily married to for 16 years. We have two beautiful children.  I then went on to four years of dental school in New Orleans where I received my state license to practice dentistry. 

I always wanted to come back to my country roots and practice in Amite which I have done so for over 11 years. I have been in my new office located at 200 NE Central Ave for over 8 years. 

I love our small town of Amite and have enjoyed so much working and living here. The town has a great group of down to earth people.
